We were under the impression that the teaser film that Asus presented at CES 2024 didn’t reveal much, but the fact that it replaced the plastic chassis with metal makes it seem almost identical to the Razer Blade.
Asus’ ROG Zephyrus CES 2024 teaser concealed something interesting in plain sight, namely the indication that its new gaming laptops are going to abandon the outdated plastic chassis and transition to an all-new metal unibody design. And you can be sure that I will be here to facilitate that shift.
Because it was released at the same time as another teaser trailer that was more enthusiastically consumed—you know, the one with guns, bikes, and bikinis—the teaser trailer that was released last week suffered from the fact that it was dropped at the same time. To tell you the truth, we skipped over it because all it seemed to say was that there were going to be new ROG laptops coming to CES 2024 this year.
It is possible that a blind hermit might have anticipated the same thing with the same level of accuracy, but we have recently discovered that there is more to it than that. We have received information from individuals who are traditionally considered to be “close to the matter” that the new Asus ROG Zephyrus laptops would undergo a more perceptible redesign on the outside, in addition to the introduction of new hardware on the inside of the laptops.
Prefabricated cabins that have not been sold are offered for almost nothing! (Just take a look.)

Although that same hermit would have also predicted a new Intel insides (ding, ding-dong, ding) for the new machines, we have learned that in addition to replacing the old LED-laden AniMe Matrix top panel with something that appears to be sleek and different, which now appears to be nothing more than a single slash of LEDs on the lid, Asus is also upgrading from the old plastic shell to a full metal unibody configuration.
When we take a closer look at the teaser, we see that the etching tool that is shown at the beginning is the most obvious indicator of what Asus intends to do with its new design. Additionally, a sparkling brilliant panel is shown in the film; thus, I am hoping that we will also be seeing an upgrade to the beautifully designed Nebula displays.
In my opinion, the redesign of the chassis has the ability to quickly place the new Zephyrus G14 from Asus right up there with the Razer Blade 14. When it comes to gaming laptops that are willing to spend any amount of money, this has been my favorite for a very long time. For the time being, we consider the current G14 to be the greatest 14-inch machine. This is mostly due to the fact that it is more reasonably priced in comparison to Razer. However, if everything were to be equal, I would choose the blade because of its elegant all-metal appearance rather than the plastic Zephyrus.

But maybe not any more. That is going to make the new ROG range seem less like its typical laptop fare and much more like the gaming MacBook look that Razer has been seeking for years. This is because the new ROG range will have a new unibody design that is made entirely of metal. a significant amount of success, it is necessary to mention.
However, if the value offer is eliminated as a result of it and Asus begins to match the premium price of the Blade, the Zephyrus Edge may become less appealing, despite the fact that it has been redesigned to be made of metal.
The whole announcement is scheduled to take place on January 8 at three o’clock in the afternoon Pacific Standard Time, which is the day before the beginning of the CES 2024 event.
